Our Story

Entertains. Educates. Connects…

How LinkUpp Was Born

The idea for LinkUpp was born thanks to our children. During playtime together, we realized how important it is to create something collaboratively that not only fosters creativity but is also realistic and environmentally friendly. In the fall of 2022, we started brainstorming and sketching the first designs for a creative children’s game. Our goal was to create a building kit that would allow kids to construct real objects, tall towers, and imaginative structures — all made from natural wood.
After many sketch-filled notebooks, the first system of cubic structures was created, becoming the foundation of our final product. The development wasn’t easy. We tried, revised, created new pieces, and our children tested every prototype. We often faced obstacles and felt we were at a standstill, but we always found solutions and gradually gained new experience. Without prior knowledge of working with solid wood, we dived in, learning the necessary skills to ensure the product met our quality standards.
Our family journey to create this wooden game and building kit has truly been an adventure. We put not only our work but also our hearts into it. We handle 90% of the design, graphics, website, communication, and hand production ourselves, without automation. All of this is achieved while caring for our three young children, who are with us every step of the way. Although it’s challenging, we believe our work has meaning. We funded the project and startup ourselves, investing all our energy and resources.
We collaborate with Czech companies, such as for printing materials, and our wooden parts are supplied by a cooperative of disabled individuals with FSC eco-certification. With the help of friends, we developed special tools to ease production. Every day, we spend hours cutting, sanding, painting, and drying, because we believe that our eco-friendly building kit will bring joy not only to children but also to adults, and contribute to protecting the planet.
Our journey is full of challenges, but also the joy of creating something meaningful that nurtures children’s imagination and strengthens family bonds. We are grateful to everyone who chooses to support our project. You help us not only realize our vision but also live in harmony, care for our children, and work toward financial stability. We don’t strive for millions but for a balanced life, family happiness, and sustainable products that bring joy. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Why are we doing this?

We want to be independent and explore the world together

What Are Our Future Plans?

Our goal is to continually enhance educational opportunities for children through handcrafted wooden building sets and games that foster creativity and learning, always with a focus on environmental protection. We aim for our products to bring joy to children, stimulate their imagination, and help them explore the world around them.
We would like to involve other parents on parental leave, seniors, or individuals from disadvantaged groups in the production process, offering them the chance to contribute to the creation of meaningful products. Our vision is to promote a family atmosphere and build a community of people who share our values and contribute to creating products that truly enrich the world of children.
We aspire to remain a family business, not a mass producer. We prefer to collaborate with smaller companies that share our commitment to sustainability and quality.
Our aim is to create a community around the LinkUpp system, where parents, educators, and other enthusiasts can share inspiration, methodological tips, and recommendations on effectively developing children's education and skills in a world full of new challenges.
Our vision may seem like a dream, but we believe that goals and dreams give meaning to our work. Together, we can create an environment where children experience a beautiful childhood full of play and quality education.

A Fresh Look

The Family Behind LinkUpp

Our story began sixteen years ago, filled with love, adventure, and plenty of challenges. After years of dating, traveling, and building our careers, we welcomed our first “mini version”—let's call her 'A'. She perfectly blends the best (and sometimes the funniest, craziest, and, of course, the most challenging) parts of both of us. A year later, we got married, and soon after, we had what we like to call our “Irish twins”—'T' and 'Z', both born in January, just a year apart. 'A' was our prototype, with whom we learned to be parents while she learned to be part of our world. Although sometimes it felt like survival mode, our main goal was to end up happy and content. Home became our main base. Our two younger ones jumped right into the fast-paced life, and since Dad works from home, we’ve become accustomed to spending lots of time together—whether at home, at grandparents' cottage, or on trips and vacations. And that’s something we don’t want to miss out on!
Our philosophy is simple: We’re just like any other family—we have peaceful, harmonious days bathed in sunshine, and we also have days filled with noise and emotions, sometimes switching between these extremes several times in a single day. Balancing so many different personalities can be tough, but we always work to find our way back to each other, understand and tolerate one another, apologize when needed, and go to bed with a smile and a “clean slate.”
We don’t strictly follow any educational system; we follow our instincts and try to be predictable for our kids. For instance, they know that Mom can’t put together a chocolate egg toy, but she can make amazing creations from fuzzy wires, while Dad is the rocket-building master. And if anyone has a sweet tooth, they’ll get it from Dad anytime, but Mom will be adamant about brushing teeth at night. And they also know that Dad is much more laid-back than Mom, so mess-ups are discussed with him first. Yes, our kids eat fast food and sweets, but we mostly cook healthy meals at home, thanks to our chef—Dad. Despite the pile of things and toys at home that the kids “absolutely needed” and whose benefits we sometimes question, we strive to provide them with toys, games, and activities that foster their development—whether it’s imagination, logical thinking, or strategic skills—and can help them acquire skills useful in school and real life.
We also pay attention to digital technology. Our kids are not cut off from it—they play games, draw on tablets, and watch shows. At the same time, they spend hours with building sets, painting, or training their stuffed animals. Traits like empathy, courage, and independence can’t be learned through screens. We want our kids to grow up in a world full of real experiences.
In today’s digital age, we’re also aware of the risks associated with sharing photos of our children, especially on social media. That’s why we decided to protect their identity and limit the sharing of sensitive information. We keep our family memories in private albums and share them only with our closest ones. We’re constantly finding ways to protect our kids in the digital world, using virtual masks and other methods to keep their identities safe while allowing them to be part of modern life. And who knows, maybe one day our kids will appreciate that we built their digital footprint with a touch of mystery and magic.
