Easter in our home has its own magic – we dye eggs, bake a sweet Easter lamb cake, and decorate our home with spring touches. We truly enjoy these traditions. But one typical Czech custom – šmigrust, where boys go door to door with willow whips asking for eggs or sweets – just isn’t our cup of tea.
Instead, we’re drawn to traditions more common in other countries – like Easter egg hunts, fun challenges, and playful outdoor adventures with the kids.
That’s why we’ve created our own version of Easter – filled with color, joy, and imagination. The children complete simple tasks, search for clues, and of course, find a little Easter surprise at the end.
We love spending time outdoors – and spring nature invites it. If the weather allows, we take our activities outside. We try to teach our children that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing… but honestly – if you carefully mark a treasure path with crepe paper and it starts raining, the magic fades a bit. Still, it’s part of the adventure – next time, we’ll be ready with something more weatherproof!
