SOUND LinkUpp - Improvements and Extensions

Creative Building
Thanks to our wooden family game and construction set SOUND LinkUpp, we’ve created various figures, structures, and even a Christmas tree together with our children. We hope these ideas will inspire your own creations. Feel free to share your ideas in the Sharing Experiences section (see below).

Game Extensions
You can play the game in tandem or in small groups, which is perfect for the Demolition Challenge. Players can place the removed pieces on a common spot, encouraging teamwork. Hejného Method for Learning Math

• After finishing the “Builder’s Adventure,” ask your child to briefly look at their structure. Then have them turn around, close their eyes, and ask how many sticks of a certain color are in the structure, for instance.
• You can practice addition and subtraction by using sticks of different sizes: define a “whole” and then add or remove smaller sticks so the child figures out how many are needed to reach or subtract from that total.
• By constructing basic shapes (square, rectangle, triangle, cube, cuboid), your child also practices geometry.
• Fractions can be explained by showing how sticks fit together—helping the child see what portion of the whole is missing.

Genetic Method for Learning to Read
Use the sticks to assemble letters or entire words. Add extra aids to create something like a puzzle, where letters are gradually revealed through “assembly.” Have additional tips? Let others know in the Sharing Experiences section.
