From time to time, we hear at home: “Let’s play our game!” And that’s always a moment of joy for us. Our kids have a lot of toys and games to choose from, so it makes us even happier when they choose SOUND LinkUpp — the family game and construction set we created together as a family.
The pieces themselves are already a big draw for the kids — the pleasantly warm wood feels great in the hand and invites them to play.
Small children and focus? That’s a topic in itself. From our own experience, we know that children between the ages of 3 and 6 can really concentrate for about 15–20 minutes — and that’s only if they already know how the game works and what’s expected of them. It was the same for us. At first, we had to guide them a little, occasionally remind them what we’re doing and why, but once we got into it, the kids gradually immersed themselves more and more in building.
It’s beautiful to watch how with each game their independence and focus grow. They remember more steps, they know where each piece goes, and when something doesn’t fit, they can figure it out and fix it on their own. It’s subtle, but a big victory — both for them and for us as parents.
And the best part? Demolition! Building is fun, but tearing things down? That’s the real ride! Laughter, joy, and the ever-present “Watch out, I’m knocking it down!” are some of our favorite moments. And the removed pieces? They never just sit there — they instantly become the foundation for new buildings, inventions, and imaginative constructions. Sure, it interrupts the flow of the game a bit, but this creative detour is simply irresistible.
In the end, we managed to play two full rounds, which we consider a great success given the kids’ ages. And most importantly — nobody wanted to stop.
These are moments full of laughter, focus, small and big victories, and the joy of creating together. The kids had a fantastic time — and so did we.
Give it a try too! Even if things don’t go exactly as planned the first time and the game ends up unfinished, don’t be discouraged. That’s completely normal with young children — just come back to it later or the next day. With each game, not only do their skills improve, but also their focus, patience, and desire to finish what they started.
The most important thing is the joy of time spent together — and this game will definitely bring you that.
