Our eldest daughter is starting school this year. Like many other parents, we’ve been thinking about what kind of education would suit her best. We’ve read countless articles, posts, and books, and had many discussions with friends and experts – including a close family friend who runs a private kindergarten, primary school, and multi-year grammar school.
From these reflections and conversations, a new vision and direction emerged: WORKSHOP LinkUpp, our new product line focused on both children’s education and professional development for educators.
WORKSHOP LinkUpp is based on the principles of STEAM education and built on our unique modular system LinkUpp. The goal is to offer practical, playful activities that also provide deep learning – supporting the development of preschool children and early primary school students, both in the classroom and in after-school activities.
Why STEAM?
STEAM is a modern, integrated approach to learning and play that develops both logical and creative thinking. It brings together five key areas:
- Science – observation, experimentation, asking questions
- Technology – practical skills and methods, problem-solving
- Engineering – construction thinking, building, fixing
- Arts – creativity, aesthetics, self-expression, presentation
- Mathematics – logic, counting, spatial awareness
This combination helps children see the world in context, find their own paths, collaborate, and grow in both logical and creative thinking. It’s not about memorizing facts, but about learning how to apply knowledge in real life – actively, not passively.
Discovering Talent Through Play
STEAM activities naturally support children in developing their individual strengths – whether technical, creative, or logical. By engaging multiple disciplines, it becomes easier to identify a child's potential and talents that might otherwise remain hidden. At the same time, this opens the door to future interests – such as technical, scientific, or artistic fields of study.
Our Children as Guides and Testers
Our own children are both our inspiration and our little testers. With them, we try out what truly works. We want them to explore the world holistically, with joy and curiosity. We believe education should be open to change, reflect the challenges of our time, and give children the tools they need to grow and face the future with confidence.
